Actually it's one of those Courier I-Modems, which has a built in NT.
Multilink PPP is configured in the NV ram, so the most likely thing is that I'm using
a default init string or something to that effect. I didn't try to understand all the
config stuff at first, but my ppp scripts have only changed in that I had to remove
the options that need to pass to diald instead. I'll compare the old and new tonight
and if still stumped I'll post them. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll make a guess you've got an ISDN Terminal Adapter (aka ISDN digital
modem) or are you working with "shotgun" analog modems?
I'm betting you're missing the settings for triggering that second channel
in your diald setup. Comparing your previous connection scripts to what you
are currently using might make the difference.

The odds were that ppp triggered the dialin connection before and now diald
triggers the connection and brings up ppp. It can make a world of
difference. But I'm guessing without any data.
