OK, here's the setup. I'm using IP masq on RedHat 6.1 (kernel 2.2.12-20) and it works great. Currently, using ifup Ican manually connect to the net, but I'd like to automate this. I've setup diald (version 0.99.1-40) with the stock config files. It'll dial but won't authenticate for some reason... And rather than taking the time and effort to fix it, is it possible for diald to run ifup ppp1 when a connection is nessasary? ...and ifdown ppp1 when it is not needed? This sure would be easier than figuring out the authentication troubles...
