The problem is that the /var/lock/LCK..modem file is still present. The
disconnect script redirects all to the modem device... I do not want this. I
need the modem to be released totally (no locks present) and I just need a
script to be called after the serial port is closed.

Try calling the script that resets the modem with then "disconnect"
directive in diald.conf.
