Diald 0.99.3 and RH6.1 kernel 2.2.14.
I have posted numerous threads on diald headaches and finally got diald to
actually dial and connect to my ISP. Once it connects it disconnects after
about 15 seconds. The logs aren't actually telling me anyhting as to why it
isn't staying connected except that the script failed.
I had my ISP monitor my incoming connection and he has determined that I am
logging in and trying to authenticate. Once the userid is passed up garbage
is displayed across his screen indicating to him that my modem init string
is incorrect. He said he has seen this before that is why I am
disconnecting. I tried changing my modem init string. Once I do that my
modem script fails and won't dial the number. I am using the default ppp-on
and ppp-on-dial scripts that came with ppp-2.3.10.
I have also tried using the connect script that came with diald, but it
fails to initialize the modem.
Anyone has a working connect script for diald??????????????
