This has been discussed to death already here. Just look back in the
archive.

The problem ist hardware and not software. The DVB-s uses the same chip
as the nokia 9800S which is not able to pass a AC3 stream through.

So the strategy of Klaus is right to pass this stream to a separate
program which can forward the data to a sound card with s/pdif.
