k, new luck. You may find this interesting:
- changed the firmware in /etc/dvb to 215a - recompiled/reinstalled the whole stuff While my last tries before doing so the box locked up at an unknown point (the remote control just allowed turning on/off the box, but no channel tuning or changing the sound volume. Powering off the box did not fix this - i thought of a hardware defect because the remote control had fallen down badly short time before...) To verify that something is broken i rebooted in Win98. Hauppauges Software moaned about an "application error". I unpowered the box for a while, rebooted in Win again and was able to tune channels. From this point of time on the remote worked again. I left the whole thing running (output to TV at the same time) and rebooted in Linux. During boot the box locked up again (frozen, still-picture on TV, no sound) output of dmesg after boot: "usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:1d.0-1 address 3 hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.0-1, assigned address 4 DVB: registering new adapter (DEC2000-t). DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (TechnoTrend/Hauppauge DEC2000-t Frontend)..." Calling tzap wouldn't reboot the box. output of dmesg after first try: "DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (TechnoTrend/Hauppauge DEC2000-t Frontend)...
