I think thats enough to show its definitely a lack-of-delay problem. Luckily I 
happen to have one of those cards in a PC here. I always had the frontend 
driver in modules.conf/modules.preload though, so I never saw that issue.

In your normal configuration, I take it VDR automatically loads the 
grundig_29501_401 frontend driver when you start VDR?

I'll have a mess about with it tomorrow.
