Hello!! First at all, thanks you for answers (and the help!!) I'm on an Ubuntu Linux 7.04, with 2.6.20-16-generic kernel. The AF9005 adapter works correctly (my with Kaffeine), but i'm trying to use the remote control unit inside the usb adapter.
After install mercurial and v4l-modules, my dmesg says: $-dmesg [12178.092000] usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 11 [12178.308000] usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [12178.316000] dvb-usb: found a 'Afatech DVB-T USB1.1 stick' in cold state, will try to load a firmware [12178.416000] dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'af9005.fw' [12178.936000] dvb-usb: found a 'Afatech DVB-T USB1.1 stick' in warm state. [12178.936000] dvb-usb: will use the device's hardware PID filter (table count: 32). [12178.940000] DVB: registering new adapter (Afatech DVB-T USB1.1 stick) [12178.944000] DVB: registering frontend 0 (AF9005 USB DVB-T)... [12178.944000] input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver as /class/input/input11sb-af9005-lirc [12178.944000] dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 200 msecs. [12178.944000] dvb-usb: Afatech DVB-T USB1.1 stick successfully initialized and connected. I would use the remote control to convert my linux box on a complete HTPC box with mythtv or mplayer. Searching on luca's web, I found a new Readme.lirc and a af9005-lirc.c. I tried build it as readme says and I got lots of make errors: I've modified the Makefile in correct folder and added the flag "-I/usr/src/lirc-0.8.1/", just where I've decompressed the lirc sources. I have any questions: 1 - the dvb-usb-af9005-lirc module (if i can compile it) will be as a module of lirc defaults?? how is it used?? 2 - the remote module charged with v4l-dvb standards modules doesn't work?? Can't be used with lirc or another way?? 3 - dmesg seems to recognize the IR-receiver inside of USB DVB receiver as /class/input/input11, can be lirc configured to use it?? On README.lirc he said he have a serial IR receiver, but can we use lirc with the IR-receiver inside of dongle?? Thanks in advance for your help!! Luca, thans for your driver too!! I've written an HowTo on Ubuntu-es<http://www.ubuntu-es.org/index.php?q=node/40359>forums about your driver and it have been visited about 2450 times, thank you very much!!
