Hi Michael,
Could you please describe your design goal and configuration a bit more?
Am I correct that the actual data path between the two computers is via
the NIC on each computer? Am I further correct (and please excuse me if
I'm really mangling what you're saying) that what you want is for the
device (for instance a modem) on the serial port of each computer to see
itself as directly connected to the serial device (modem) attached to
the serial port on the other computer?
