1. Make FAI install a FAI installer ( recursion is your friend ).
Where's the problem? put your configs together, add "fai" to the 
package-list and run "make-fai-nfsroot" -or am I missing something?

2. Have the machines update configs AFTER install.
I'm working on a CVS-based solution for that (using cvs-hooks to do the 
job automagically) - or is there someone out there, who has already done 
so?
