I am sorry to disturb you with what might be a FAQ question but I
have been working on this for serveral days without much success. I
have an SMP PIII machine where I have installed 2 promise ATA/66
controllers. To make this hardware recognized by a 2.2.x kernel I
reckon that I need to apply Hedricks IDE patched at :

       http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/hedrick/

Unfortunately when I apply the raid0.9 patches from :

      ftp://ftp.us.kernel.org/pub/linux/daemons/raid/alpha/

The kernel ends up panicking immediatly after RAID autodetection.... I
have tried to compile RAID5 in the 2.3.49 but, unfortunately it
fails... I have also tried to make it run with 2.2.14 and 2.2.15prex kernels
with no success... Apparently raid0.9 development stopped last summer
8-(... Is this true ? If not, do you know where can I get the latest versions ?

What I am trying to find out is the kernel version that is recommended
to run Software Raid 0.9 that works with Hedricks IDE patches... Any
help would be extremely appreciated...

Regards,
