I've run 2.2.13ac1 with Hedrick's patches and 0.90 RAID with success. Did the
patches apply cleanly on 2.2 ?? (And btw. which 2.2 didn't work?)
I haven't tried 2.3.49 (yet), but problems should be expected (and reported).
It is 2.3 after all, and the RAID merger began not too long ago, with devfs and
LVM at the same time... The smoke should clear gradually during the next
series of 2.3 releases.
If you want to use this system in production, go with 2.2 and make really sure
that all patches apply cleanly. 2.2.15pre14 can be made to work with the RAID
patch from http://people.redhat.com/mingo (for 2.2.14 - requires a little hand
patching to fix a RAID-1 reject - but that's trivial).
And no, 0.90 RAID development hasn't stopped at all.

That would be 2.2.15 once it's out and Ingo's and Hedrick's patches are ported
for it.
But until then, 2.2.13acX (already has 0.90 RAID) with Hedrick's patches should
do the trick.
