If it doesn't work with "abitrary resources and constraints" then what exactly does it test? What is the purpose of CTS? Sorry if I'm being dense....

CTS is what we use to test releases before putting them out. We can't test every possible combination. As it is, it typically takes 4-6 days to get all the tests run. If we expanded that to be even broader, then it would take years to complete.

It makes some assumptions about them which your configuration might not conform to. For example, it assumes that if you have quorum that all resources ought to be running - somewhere.

You can define constraints such that this isn't true. So, if you define them that way, then we might get all excited and declare a failure in some circumstance where it correctly doesn't start a resource.

I would guess that CTS might not deal well with resources that aren't in groups. Or groups of groups, or other things that are perfectly legal, but we didn't think about when designing the test harness.

We can't test every possible combination. So, your resources are likely to work fine, but maybe not.

I'd give it a try. It's not that likely that you do things that violate the assumptions of the test harness.

Let us know how it goes.
