Given that there's only one existing implementation of said standard we
ought to make sure that this implementation/interface works for us and
then revise the "standard" again. ;-)
But thats the thing... I thought (from talking to alanr) that the
problems with the API were well known and had already been addressed
in a subsequent revisions of the standard.
Several of the issues we're having are addressed by the new standard -
but not all of them. And this proposed standard introduced a new bug
(not knowledge of quorum).
