OK, after much lsof'ing I figured why my cib.xml was not updating.

Permissions: I has created the file from an example on the web site, as root.

Definitely totally my mistake. But there were no errors or warnings from the 'cif' daemon that it could not write to this file, and the crm_diff program just returned 'Aborted' with every call.

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Manfred,

Thanks for the info. My mistake, I did mean hb_gui.

However this does not exist. Some googling I found this works:

# python /usr/src/heatbeat-2.0.8/mgmt/client/haclient.py

This file (haclient.py) has not been installed outside my source directory.

I now have another problem. When I use the GUI I can create resources, but these are *not* saved in /var/lib/heatbeat/crm/cib.xml. No errors I can see reported.

Therefore when I restart heatbeat I loose all my clusters.

Is 2.0.8 a bad version, or I am doing something very stupid?

Thanks,

Ben

Dear Linux-ha,

I have just completed an entirely successful compilation and installation of 2.0.8 fro source.

From the (truly excelent) slide show on how to use the GUI, is suggests it's started with:

# ha_gui &

However this has not been installed. My source code directory does not contain this file either.

Any ideas of what I might have done wrong?

That must be a typo in the slide show you're refering to. The program is
actually called "hb_gui".

Thanks!!

Ben

HTH, cheers.
