I have installed SLES 11 RC4. There are no packages for openAIS on the
DVD, neither any sign of pacemaker. Do I have to install packages
mentioned on the clusterlabs.org site? Are there advantages of these HA
apps to run on SLES 11 in stead of SLES 10?

TIA
:-)

There's a SLE-11-HAE media, which includes all the clustering
packages, I personally find it annoying they take out the those
packages from the main media as it's only about 25Mb saved.

Space isn't the issue. Â HAE is a separate product now.

And where is the SLE-11-HAE to be found? Looked at opensues.org,
linux-ha.org, clusterlabs.org and Novell.com; .... or has it something
to do with Novell's "PlateSpin Orchestrate 2.0 High Availability" High
Availability Environment (HAE)?

I guess you are in the beta testing program, it's in the same listing
where you can get the main SLES11 DVD along the MINI and SDK images...

Regards,

Unfortunately not in both cases. Beta Testing Program is for specialists
and by invite only, and I downloaded from "Sneak Preview"; there is only:

<http://download.novell.com/protected/Export.jsp?buildid=_skp4YryXVs%7E>
Name Size
SLES-11-DVD-x86_64-RC4-DVD1.iso 2.6 GB (2814312448)
SLED-11-DVD-i586-RC4a-DVD1.iso 3.8 GB (4122411008)

@ Ciro

Hi Ciro Iriarte,

If you have it, could you send me the link to the SLE-11-HAE media (ISO)
please; maybe I could download it like that.

TIA

:-)

Al

Here's the list of links.
http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=KC9QgDHyiog

And the direct link for HAE:
http://download.novell.com/sendredirect?target=%2Frest%2FKC9QgDHyiog%7E%2FSLE-11-HAE-i586-RC6-Media1.iso&buildid=KC9QgDHyiog&fileid=JEhojwhuIDc~&mirror=AkamaiHost&nohost=false

But you're required to login, so I assume you need explicit access.
Unluckily you'll need to wait for final version. Finally got Linux-HA
working, have to unlearn that and learn OpenAIS now (although the
resource manager should be the same), hope there's good detailed
documentation this time...

Regards,

Thanks ...

Just to let you know, documentation is very good for HA with pacemaker at clusterlabs.org (HTML & PDF) from Andrew Beekhof. OpenAIS is on http://openais.org/doku.php?id=doc:quickstart, but it hopefully installs correctly on SLES 11, only needing the configuration. Andrew is looking for a link for non-beta-testers (I think); he said he is searching and will let me know.

You are right with the login. Although I have a novell account, "You (i) do not have the correct privileges to download the file.". :-(

How do I get it? - I'm not a developer, only a user testing the system to see if we can use it.

Regards
