Hi,

I'm not be sure...
But I found the folloing message in config.log.
/usr/bin/ld: crt1.o: No such file: No such file or directory

I have RHEL5.3, so

# rpm -qf /usr/bin/ld
binutils-2.17.50.0.6-9.el5

I think RHEL4-3 should have binutils-2.15.92.0.2-1.
