You are probably right. Indeed, the documentation has always been the weak point of the project, though things did improve a bit. Currently, we only have the Andrew's "Configuration Explained" documents, but it's hard for me (and probably Andrew too) to judge how difficult it is for absolute beginners. It may also be good to have again some documentation in the html format, perhaps people find that easier navigate. Further, I can recall that every once in a while one or the other user with good intentions tried to put the documentation in order but unfortunately nothing came out of it. Working on the documentation would definitely be a time well spent.
