Only 2 things are useful in a 2-node apache cluster: 1) if both nodes are on the net, only one runs ipaddr/apache, and 2) if one of them is off the net, the one still on runs ipaddr/apache. The rest is featuritis and bloat. (Obviously, drbd, 2+-node clusters, etc. are a whole different story.)
