The reason probably is that the cluster nodes are exchanging so much 
information that a 100Mb LAN sometimes isn't fast enough. And even if the 
bandwidth is OK, the updates with increasing sequence numbers sometimes cannot 
be applied (for a not really obvious reason). So basically some design issues 
rather than a general problem for cluster software.  Shared storage however 
could be a challenge...
