Doug, I was running (up till last month) the German Baycom 3105 serial modem on linux. it was running there for about 10 years, doing APRS Igate the last 5 on Suse. Before that I ran it on a Debian and Slackware system. I used a setserial script to bring it up under ax25, and it worked great all the time. -pat
----------- Hello Pat. Well I googled around a bit and found all sorts of stuff, but it seemed to be kernel dependent. I had to recompile the kernel for my last RH system and am bound and determined not to get into that again. It was my first and I hope last time for that. Every thing seemed so easy with Mepis 6.5. Most of the ham stuff is in the depository and it loads it with out any problem at all. I am not linux savvy and am struggling to learn. I just tried my Listen command and not too happy what I see on the screen. "no ax25 port data configured". I got them in and simlink is there so I guess I gotta look at it again...
Tried to send this direct to you, but your ISP refused it... Pretty tough spam filter!! Thanks Pat. Doug VE5DA - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-hams" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
