Have you compiled all the needed stuff as modules? If you did, it looks like 
they are not being loaded when they should have.
Recheck your kernel configuration (maybe you're forgetting kmod) and the modules
directory, and do a 'depmod -a' to see if the modules are allright.
If you didn't compile the stuff as modules, recheck that they are included in
your newly compiled kernel and try again.
If that doesn't help, it beats me! ;-)
