I am curious about this statement. Is it because of not being able to
control the number of frames sent in a given transmission -- i.e. the
transmitter could capture the frequency for an extended (undesirable)
period of time provided there was enough incoming data to keep it going?
If so, I could understand that position, although I could see some links
(such as dedicated full-duplex links) where that would not be a problem at
all.
I've done very little IP over RF at this point (so be gentle with me! ;-)
), however I am fairly well-acquainted with AX.25 over RF. To me, from a
theoretical standpoint (which admittedly can be very different from the
real-world), it wouldn't make sense to send TCP (with guaranteed delivery)
over IP (which does not guarantee delivery) over a connected-AX.25 circuit
(which would guarantee delivery), without some very strong reasons. From
that perspective, datagrams make more sense to me...
Please enlighten me, and thanks in advance!

Brett
