Well Tony, I am not aware of what FBB for Linux can work with and
I'm not at all sure the ax25-utils can talk to a MFJ 1276 TNC but it runs
pactor and works very well and costs $150.00 in the usa. The pactor II box
is $1000.00 and they keep their protocal secret so I will never buy one.

The MFJ 1276 has pactor, well defined in their manual along with
1200 and 300 baud packet on a 265k e-prom. The current version is 3.0 and
it seems to work great. I do not think you can get into the Kiss mode
while in the pactor mode. You can do it when in the packet mode.

I am using the MFJ on 20 meter pactor with minicom as my terminal
program. This works fine. So it's not hard to dream of a way to get the
output going to minicom to an application like FBB. If we could get the
output to look like kiss we are home free. The ax25-utils can connect to
that and away we go with FBB.

I wonder why John-Paul wrote a pactor thing for pactor II? That is
kind of odd. Perhaps pactor II has a kiss option in pactor.
