I too am having trouble.  I'm using SuSE 6.0 and kernel version 2.2.4.  
When it tries to compile "procutils" it issues a bunch of "undeclared" 
functions.  I've checked and double checked the kernel compile, etc., but 
so far nothing works.  -kdp
