Well do you use "softdcd on" in /etc/z8530drv.conf
As i mentioned that cured the problem on one machine but not on another.

I will send it in a personal mail to you, it is of course system spesific,
so you will need to do quite a bit of editing, however if you have a little
shell programming experiance then it should not be so hard to accomplish.
If not let me know and i will change it for you.
