What an absolute stinker !

It's almost impossible for me to diagnose what's wrong, but I will ask
whether the circumstances are particular to when your box is sending
the traffic to your friend, or is it when your friend is trying to send
traffic to you, or both ?

Just a hunch is to check that the paclen in axports is 256, the mtu in the
ifconfig entry is 256, and did you say No to 'allow large windows' when
compiling the kernel ? Does the UKNOS have a large value of 'tcp window',
(e.g. greater than 864) or perhaps an mtu which is not 256, and/or 'tcp mss'
other than 216 ?

Sometime, I've got to get to grips with the Baycom USCC card and its driver,
but one thing I have seen is KISS TNCs take a dive when presented with
a huge amount of data to transmit - buffer overflow ?

If you see what I'm getting at ... trying to reduce the amount of data being
sent in each key of the ptt line, and avoiding fragmentation.
