I'm trying to use my Kenwood TS-450SAT with my Linux box. First off
I'd like to find a source for the "accessory" plug used to plug a TNC
(PK-232 in my case) into the back of this rig. Also looking for a
"control" program which can operate the radio through the port on the
back. By "operate" I mean change frequency, mode...etc... I understand a
small circuit is needed and I have the Max brand chips, but no schematic
or info.

Also, I'm looking for a 2 meter all-mode rig to use for SSB and
eventually satellite work. A friend had the TS-711 which I admired at
the time, is this a "decent" and capable radio, or are there better
models ? I'm not a Kenwood-only type person, but I have had pretty good
luck with what I have bought so far.

Suggestions, comments ? All input is appreciated, feel free to reply
privately. thanks - Tim
