HI All, Has anyone set up a 3com 589d pcmcia ethernet card in a Toshiba 4000 CDS laptop ? cardmgr recognises and installs the driver ok,BUT if the ax25 rc file is started before "/pcmcia/network start eth0" running tcpdump fails to find the physical layer. If the network is bought up before the ax25 config file is run the ethernet link semi functions , it tx's only with no receive.. I've tried different interupts and memory allocations ,but with the same result, cant find anything in the pcmcia howto to help with this one. OS is Redhat 5.2 with kernel 2.0.36 and pcmcia 3.0.9. just make things worse, the thing works perfectly under win 98. This is the back up system to the hub so if anyone has a problem which is software related with either fbb or tnos, or rarely node access I can try to sort it out remotely. I'm only home at weekends now. Its as if the beast is runnning half duplex instead of full duplex, if this is the case how do I set it to full duplex.
