In kernel 2.0.36, you do not need the ax25-module patch
mentioned in Terry's original AX.25-HOWTO. Just set up all the
other options you want to use according to the information in the
HOWTO but avoid to patch your kernel sources.

You do NOT have to install net-tools 1.34 since SuSE should have
a more recent version included. Just use the net-tools that came
with SuSE; you do not have to worry about that.

It is exactly as described, this package is intended for use with
kernel 2.2.1 and later. Since it is a binary package you do NOT
have to compile anything. You could install it using YAST and see
if it works. However, the maintainer of this package is reading this
list - I am sure he could provide you with more detailed information.
