The lack of the CPUID instruction should not affect the driver's
functions. Thomas Sailer as the author of the SoundModem driver
had a solution to this AFAIK, but I guess I've lost this certain
message. Searching the mailinglist archive at
http://hes.iki.fi/archive/
would probably be no bad suggestion.
