I run an FBB v 7 bbs in dos. One vhf port and a uhf port run through
bpq node software operating two older kpc3 units. I also use at PTC
II on hf and vhf. It runs on drivers built in to fbb.
I am running RedHat 6 some of the time on a separate computer and I
have in mind installing it and the xfbb version of the bbs software
but I have several questions.
- Is there someplace an outline or description of the steps involved
from someone who has been down this path before?
- I thought I would just flexnet instead of bpq but I don't see
anything about it running in linux. What would you use to drive the
two kpc3 units?
- Are there any differences in the functionality of fbb in the Linux
version?
- My shack is in a separate building and I have an ethernet link to
it in the house. The house computer is what I normally use. I would
like to be able to check the bbs and send and receive packet mail
remotely from the house computer. Any suggestions as to how this
would be done?
The shack computer is a 486 dx 2-66 with 32 megs of ram and a 256k
video card.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
