This Sunday I decided to try and install mtrack. It was fine to
start with. But then make discovered I don't have gtk+ on my computer. Not
a problem, I checked my Red Hat cdr and there was gtk+ but not the latest
version!
So I went to the web site and got the latest gtk+ and tried to
compile that. Alas configure failed because I don't have the latest GLIB
on my computer. Went back to the web site and got the latest GLIB version
and it compiled and installed properly.
But when I tried to compile gtk+ it couldn't FIND the new GLIB! So
I said heck, will try again when I get my Red Hat version 6 installed.
If your using debian or slackware or Red Hat mtrack will take some
serious upgrading of your Linux to run.
It's been that kind of day. I got kernel 2.2.9 compiled and my Red
Hat runs just fine with it, except for the ax25-utils of course. I tried
to install the ax25-utils for Red Hat 6 but it complained I don't have the
proper curses version...zap!
Best wishes
