When this is released (last I heard Mark Sproul still was hoping for beta 
at the end of the month), it will have many more features than xastir, 
because it will share the same codebase as MacAPRS and WinAPRS. That 
source sode will not be released.

I suggested XASTIR because it is available now and is open source.
