What does one do when everything is running perfectly?...You get a wild
hair and upgrade the OS! I did exactly that and ended up spending
several days getting things back to semi normal. Anyway, for those who
are using the Intelligent async PC/Xe Digiboard multi serial interface,
here is what I needed to do to get things working on a RH6.0 system.

  After loading the new OS you will need to make a new kernel that
includes the Digiboard support. Reading the digiConfig notes it
mentioned to use 'make menuconfig'. This does not work with the PC/Xe
board. Use the 'make config' instead and you will see the second option
for the PC/Xe card. If you include it as a module make sure you add the
necessary lines to the conf.modules file.

  Download the latest config tool from ftp.digi.com and run the proper
./digiConfig . This will configure the proper /dev/ttyD0~4 ports and
control files.

  Once you have the proper kernel working you can modify the lilo.conf
to get the interface up and running with the append command i.e..
append="digiepca=E,PC/Xe,D,4,200,D000". This will initiate a 4 port
async serial card io=200 mem=d000.

  I use the ttyD# interfaces for tnos asy devices and have had no
problems to date. Plus, I don't burn an interrupt with the card.
