Just out of curiousity, have you tried the jnos linux ? it's really
nice to use from a user standpoint, and the buffer problems from
the old dos days are gone.
I run tnt over the linuxnode, and really have the best of both worlds,
without having to run a gateway at all. I have a terminal, and a netrom
node, although not much of one, because my antenna is only at about 35
feet, but people do use it as a switch. I am totally grateful for the
ax25 stuff, since I could never do what I do in any other system, and
still have use of the tncs.
BTW, my box doubles as a firewall, and the ppp server, and soon I'll have
it configured to do the mail and the news too. But since the node isn't
used as a gateway, it really doesn't matter.
