In a search for an interface for the Grapes WA4DSY 56k modem, I had
asked representatives from Paccomm about continuing development of the
PackeTwin card and NOS drivers. Below is a clip from the response.
--------------

No, we have pulled back from a number of product areas. Still sell what
we
have on the shelf, but are not trying any improvements or new designs
except
in the vehicle tracking area.

I believe some parts on the PackeTwin are becoming hard to get, so it
will
eventually go out of production. As to driver support, we are
handicapped.
Gracilis did code based on Phil Karn's NOS which has a multitude of
copyright notices in it. We are prevented from releasing that code to
other
developers - had a gent in Australia who was quite happy to write a
linux
driver but we couldn't support him.

---------------

With the Ottawa PI-2 not being available (TAPR was going to pick up the
kit ?) and the PackeTwin going out of production. Where does one go to
find a SCC8530 driven interface that uses DMA access? Is there a
commercial product? (somewhere in the dust comes the name SEALEVEL?).

If you have a PI-2 card gathering dust, please drop me a line. I would
love to test it out with the latest Linux kernel.

Best Regards to ALL,
John
