Hello,

The dev-hams mailing list was set up a few years ago to provide a
discussion list for linux-hams software developers, with a better
signal-to-noise ratio better than on this list. It was thought to be
necessary, because some developers were thinking of unsubscribing the list
due to the high noise level.

The list has been useful for the purpose of discussing technical issues
of kernel AX.25, library and utilities development. Lately the discussion
has mostly concerned the development of the new ax25-libs, tools and apps
packages, and the new ax.25 kernel code planned for Linux 2.3/2.4.

Subscription is by invitation only: someone already on the list can
publicly suggest inviting someone, and if no-one objects, the person will
be asked if he/she is interested in joining. This has kept the list quite
small with about 20 subscribers, and no unsubscriptions at all so far.

Following recent discussion it was decided to publish the existence of
the list, and make the mailing list archive available for anyone to read.
This should make it easier for those developers and active users who are
not on the list to follow recent developments and discussions about future
plans. Also, a number of new invitations were suggested, and those persons
have now been asked if they would like to join the list.

The mailing list archive can be found at:
