You could "fix" it by setting a route to the other stations real
IP-address thru tunl0, then the tunneled IP-address, and then
finally remove the route to the real IP-adress.

The other, more correct way, is to use the new ip-commands
(iproute, could be found in redhat:s rawhide directory as
iproute-2.2.4-2.i386.rpm) but I have not yet tried it myself.
I think the syntax was the same, but exchange "route" with
"ip route".
