Just to be sure we don't confuse anyone here: The AX.25 specification
makes no attempt at defining layer 1 issues. It is however true that on
VHF the most popular signaling method is AFSK with bell 202 tones (1200Hz
and 2200Hz) with signalling rate of 1200 bps. Also HDLC bit stuffing
and NRZI is used.
