Is it me, or does everything I touch go wrong!

I managed to recover my system following an attempt to blow away the kernel
thanks to slippy fingers!

But the pressing problem I face is this:

I issue the following command:

# kissattach /dev/ttyS1 4m 44.131.162.129

linux replys with ...

tty_speed: tcgetattr: Input/output error

Can somebody give me a clue?

I have a feeling that it is down to the fact that I have no TNC connected to
that port (I don't really have a spare available to aid in the building of
this new system).

Am I right, or is there something else?

Regards

Rob G1ZPU
