It is not clear, to me, which AX25* goes with which kernel. 2.0.35 and later go well with ax25-utils-2.1.42a. Used that for a year here. Skip the kernel patching section of AX25-HOWTO, 2.0.35+ kernels carry the patch in them. You will need the new stuff with 2.2.x kernels. Look at ftp.hes.iki.fi. > The HOWTOs seem to follow the leading (bleeding) edge of kernel > development (prototype) and not the stable (bog-standard) kernels. > > I am comfortable with kernels 2.0.35, .36 & .37pre10. I use the same calls on all ports, just like I did under MSDOS with node, FBB, JNOS and DXNET. Of course, Linux requires its own callsign-ssid per port. Read the Netrom Node mini HOWTO, and take a look at John Ackermann's site, www.febo.com. > > $.02 > Chuck nc8q > > Tedd Doda wrote: > > > > Hi Tim: > > > > On Tue, 4 Jan 2000 18:56:45 -0800, kf4bzt wrote: > > > > > I'm glad you said Linux.
