Using z8530drv-3.x i belive you cant set any buffers at all in the config
file.

Ah!, then you must have seen that when sccinit is issued it does state that
buffers are no longer a configurable option.
Seeing that you are using 2.2.x kernels i presume you are using
z8530drv-3.x. That you did not mention in your origanal post.
What i am more interested in is what you are using for a trx, what sort of
card with or without opto couplers, and on what freq, the lap is planned.??
Maybe you could send me a personal in Dutch.??
Once more if you edit the scc.c file and rebuild the kernel and/or module
then 512 bytes should work.
I did do that with 2.2.13 but i did not test it too much, now i changed to
2.2.14 and forgot to edit scc.c so i just changed the MTU back to 256.
I will however compile a new kernel and actualy try 1500 as mtu, i am the
sysop of PI1GOE so i can change what i want on both ends.
I send you a personal later with my findings.
