I've used the small-linux distro (on metalab) ... a boot, root and supplemental
disk, and if you mount the floppy as root (no ramdisk), the doc's say it
will run in as low as 2 MB. I've tried it on 4 MB and it worked fine, and
/proc/meminfo indicated it only took about 1600000 bytes to boot up.

If that disk on a chip can be used for swap you might be able to do
something useful. It was a 2.0.0 kernel.
