Hi,

I have written a (hopefully) short HOWTO about setting up ax25 using
precompiled packages and Mirkos ax25-config utility.

This HOWTO is not intended to replace the AX25-HOWTO but is meant as a
quick start document.

I want this HOWTO to be
   - as short as possible to encourage many translations. As well many
of the "new generation of linux users" don't like to read at all.
Therefore I prefer extending ax25-config rather than writing
     additional sections in the documentation.
   - as comprehensive as possible even for people who don't have
any experience neither with unix or packet radio.
   - as complete as possible with regard of the covered packet
     radio hardware.
   - it should enable anybody to get ax25 up and running in 5 minutes ;)

This is my first attempt at this. It is not yet suited for newbies
because it needs to be reviewed carefully. This is what I like to ask
you for, please. Read the document, point out any spelling errors or
even phrases which might be unclear for unexperienced users. I am not
an English native speaker so there it is likely that there are rather
strange expressions in it.

What it will not (never) cover:
    - compiling ax25-tools/libs (there are binary packages now)
    - installing on ancient systems (libc5, kernel 2.0)
    - tcp/ip, net/rom, rose (though this is no final decision, if you
can explain this in a few sentences or yet better extend
ax25-config to support it, it can be added)
    - node, pms, ax.25 programming

Please read it and comment it here. If you like to participate, I can
give you CVS access to the sources (lyx or sgml, I am not sure what is
better suited for cvs). It is written with lyx using the LinuxDoc mode.
