Dave,
I have seen those postings, and it has raise my curiosity as well. There was
even a suggestion for the FCC to make a digital only license, to draw in
more computer users to the hobby.
But, I don't know the answer to your question.
I have used Unix, in a very limited way, at work for years, but I am new to
linux. The more I learn, the more I realize how much I need to learn.
My current goal is to get CLX packet cluster up and running. Our RACES group
has used Pavillion Packet Cluster for years in an Emergency roll. But the
owner of the software has moved on, leaving us operational with his callsign
still embedded in the Cluster. We would like to replace the software, but it
is no longer on the market, and the guy will not release the source code.
Anyway, getting CLX running has been a painful journey for me. You see, I
was weaned on the Redmond tit. Without some help, it seems, I may never
get through the install, let alone the set up.
