Oh. :-( I've seen a fairly simple app in Perl/Tk running on both platforms
very smoothly, but nothing more complicated.

A little off the topic -- the Perl/Tk tutorial says you can use the
form

  -blah => 'value'

as parameters to Perl/Tk functions, but perl with 'use strict' enabled
requires me to use '-blah' instead. Is it just me?

It's OK. I'd consider it a bit more if all the tools were available
open source though (compiler, JVM and standard classes). There is
a lot of development work going on but nothing of production quality
last time I looked (8-9 months).
