New to this list, but here's my question:

I cannot get the AX25-utils-2.1.42 to compile properly on my Linux system
with
out making considerable modifications to the headers included in a number
of the source files. When I finally got it to compile I couldn't get my
kiss device attached. I am using kernel version 2.2.5-15. I am using Red
Hat Linux 6.0. I have net tools ver 1.51 and also tried ver 1.34.

"kissattach /dev/ttyS0 1" returned "AX.25 prot 1 bound to device
ax0" which looks good, but "kissparms -p 1 -t 100 -s 100 -r 25" returns:

        axconfig: port 1 not active
        kissparms: no AX.25 ports configured

Wuz up? Should I just revert to Kernel 2.0? I've been using linux for
only maybe four months, but have 5+ years expierence with C at hardware
level--what ever that's worth.

Thanks for any help,
