Try kernel 2.2.6 or higher.
I had the same problem and kernels _newer_than_ 2.2.5 did work !

Dell's PERCs or at least PERC-2/SCs are actually AMI's MegaRAID controllers
for which drivers can be fetched from
ftp://ftp.megatrends.com/MegaRaid/Drivers/linux/ including the source.
2.2.x kernels have MegaRAID drivers included.

Hi Everybody,
I have problems configuring my sound card. I writing down some
information about my computer:
Distribution Red Hat 5.2 Kernel 2.0.36-1
Intel Celeron at 300 Mhz
RAM 64
Onboard 3D Sound Pro meets PC98' SPEC and supports HRTF Positional
Audio, Direct Sound Wave-table Synthesizer, and Digital Audio Interface
(SPDIF) IN/OUT.
Attached is my isapnp.conf file which I construct using pnpdump and
isapnp with the command PEEK.
When I try to configure the sound card I do the following:
isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf
modprobe -a sound
But nothing happen.
When I cat the file /dev/sndstat, it shows that there are not driver
loaded.
Please let know if I am missing something or my card have any problem,
etc.
Thank for your help.
Regards,
Felix Sanchez

You will still need the XBF_i740 drivers. I don't think they included them
in the Redhat 6.0 release.

Subject: SCSI error (aic7xxx.c) ?
Date: 25 May 1999 09:06:43 GMT
Hi
We have installed 8 nodes of Linux cluster and frequently
encountered with SCSI errors for 4 nodes. So far we have tested
following 3 sets of kernels and SCSI drivers. In all case, we
have encountered the similar errors.
Linux 2.0.36 (aic7xxx.c version 5.1.2)
Linux 2.2.4 (aic7xxx.c version 5.1.10)
Linux 2.2.7-ac1 (aic7xxx.c version 5.1.13)
A sample error log is attached in this text. Following is our
configuration information.
Motherboard: ASUS P2B-DS
CPU/memory Dual Pentium II 450 MHz, 256 MB Memory
SCSI Adapter: Adaptec AIC-7890/1 Ultra2 SCSI host adapter
SCSI Disk: SEAGATE Model: ST39173LW
Linux kernel: linux-2.2.4 and Linux 2.2.7-ac1
SCSI driver : aic7xxx.c version 5.1.10 and 5.1.13(by Alan's patch)
Does anyone know how to fix this problem ? Is there any newer
drivers for aic7xxx.c ? Thanks for the information.

Reply-To: "RBasham" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Yes, it's possible.
LILO is installed in the extended root partition (not MBR) and only boots Linux.
Win98 and WinNt are installed in separate primary partitions so that both can't
be active concurrently.
The NT loader is set to only boot NT (can't even see the Win98 primary
partition).
Win98 partition only sees itself.
Boot Magic (PM 4.0) comes up first and boots Linux, Win98, or WinNT. Depending
on which one you select, the next program to get control is LILO, NT loader, or
Win98.
LILO goes to Linux (obvious), NT loader to NT (ditto), and Win98 boots itself
(only it does not get too much action these days except for Quicken!).
