This one works for me (I haven't tried the sound configuration yet),
french keyboard, internal display only.
Don't forget the line:
   Option "sw_cursor"
FYI, the chipset used by DELL is called NM2200...

Anybody get a Lucent Winmodem to work with linux? Do I have to disable the
pnp function somehow and if I do that, will it screw up Windows 98? I am
running both -dual booting with Linux and Win 98 and soon to be NT server
and need the modem for all os's. Any ideas?

Subject: multiple device with disks of different type
Date: 28 Jun 1999 15:05:17 GMT

In a sense, the answer to my question is given in Software Raid
mini HOWTO. I would like, however, to have a more precise one to
the following case.

Can I use safely a multiple device (linear personality) created
out of a partition (about 150Mb) of an IDE disk with DMA enabled
and an entire IDE disk (old one, 162Mb) without it ? Or the type
of disks used is absolutely indiferent ?

I have recently experienced strange things while compiling on this
partition: *.xpm files with the attribute of a character device,
unusually huge files, moreover all unremovable even by root.

The kernel versions are 2.2.9 and 2.3.1. The mainboard is an EPoX's
EP-MVP3G-M with VT82C586. I have enabled the experimental support
for this chip.

Hi,

I want to get my old Apple Laserwriter working under Linux (2.2.5
kernel, Red Hat 6.0). Does anyone know how to do that? I suppose I
connected it to COM2 and put the switch on the Laserwriter to 9600. I
tried something like this in /etc/printcap:
lp:\
    :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\
    :mx#0:\
    :sh:\
    :lp=/dev/ttyS1:\
    :if=/var/spool/lpd/lp/filter:\

I configured this with printtool under Red Hat. But when I send a
postscript file, nothing happens. The orange led doesn't flicker and lpq
says that the printer is ready and printing. Please help.

Subject: Millenium Video and Sony Monitor problem
Date: Mon, 28 Jun 1999 11:59:26 -0400

Hello all,

I'm new to Linux and just installed Red Hat 6.0 onto my system, which
has a K6-200, 64 Megs RAM, plenty of disk space. I have a Matrox
Millenium MGA card and a Sony CPD-200SX 17" monitor. In Windows and OS/2
I use a resolution of 1024X768 with a 85hz non-interlaced refresh rate.

In installing Linux, Xconfigurator detected my video card fine, and my
monitor was listed by name. I selected them both, checked off the
appropriate resolutions and color depths, and everything seemed fine.
When I booted into linux, however, I discovered I was getting an
interlaced screen (the refresh was a strange 76hz that I'd never seen
before): flickering and all.

By the way, Linux had a problem detecting the "clockchip" or whatever
that is, so I selected the "no clockchip" option as advised by the
install program.

I tried re-installing Linux and manually entering the refresh rates from
the Sony manual, but the outcome was just the same: a flickering
display.

What can I do to get the high refresh rate that I am used to?

Thanks,

Boris

Where can I find the user space utils for this driver ?
This is for a Synchronous Serial Adapter made by Comtrol.
I'm using 2.2.x kernels.

Thank you
